UKIP GAIN BIGGEST BY-ELECTION SWING ON RECORD

In the recent Cheam by-election, our candidate Frank Day, gained the biggest technical swing on record.

New to the constituency, UKIP came from a zero vote to gain third place (out of 4) with 260. This, coupled with the collapse of the Conservative vote, gave UKIP their best by-election result for some time. The Tory collapse was evident in the majority shrinking from 725 to just 87.  They held the seat but the Lib-Dems were breathing down their necks in what was formerly a true-blue seat.

Now thanks to the hard work of UKIP and Frank Day, Cheam ward is now considered a "tory marginal".  Frank said  "I would like to personally thank all the team who worked so hard to ensure we received a solid vote.  This is just the start, and we have proved that we now have the capabilities to not only damage our opponents, but to eventually make the breakthrough we all desire and to capture seats in both Tory and Lib-Dem marginals ".

Frank concluded, "Above all, the UKIP message is slowly but surely getting across, and the major parties had better look over their shoulders because we will be breathing down their necks".
